DEVON | DEER PARK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Photographing a wedding at Deer Park Country House in Honiton, Devon was a truly special experience. The venue's natural beauty and elegant charm provided an idyllic backdrop for capturing the love and joy of Charlotte & Zaks wedding in late May. As I arrived at Deer Park Country House, I was immediately struck by the picturesque surroundings. The estate's manicured gardens, lush greenery, and charming architecture created a serene and romantic atmosphere. Inside the venue, the elegant interiors offered a touch of sophistication and timeless beauty. The soft natural light streaming through the large windows casts a warm glow, providing a perfect ambiance for intimate moments and capturing details of the day.
I began by photographing the Charlotte and Zak getting ready in separate suites. The bridal suite, with its luxurious furnishings and ample natural light, serves as a dreamy backdrop for capturing the bride's anticipation and the laughter shared with her bridesmaids. Meanwhile, in the groom's suite, I documented the camaraderie between the Zak and his groomsmen, capturing their playful moments and nervous excitement.
As the ceremony approaches, I made my way to the outdoor ceremony space. Zak & Charlotte had chosen to exchange their vows outside on this beautful spring day in mid May. I ensured that I positioned myself discreetly, capturing the tender glances, emotional expressions, and the tears of joy as the couple said their "I do's." The natural beauty of the surroundings adds depth and a sense of enchantment to each photograph.
Following the ceremony, I photographed a small selection of family group portraits and documented the heartfelt speeches including a 4k video recording. So many occasions my couples mention they don’t wish to have a videographer for their whole day, but would love to have their speeches recorded. I get it - on my own wedding day I really wanted those kind words from my best men, my wife and father in law recorded to look back on. My wife and I now watch the recordings once a year, as a wedding anniversary tradition. Little did I know then just how special the recordings would become as we all grow older. The joyous celebration, and the energetic dance floor made for some fantastic pictures. The grandeur of the venue's interior spaces, such as the ornate ballroom or the elegant orangery, adds a touch of sophistication to the reception photos. I aim to expertly capture the candid moments, the laughter, and the genuine interactions between guests, creating a visual narrative that tells the story of the couple's special day.
