Video of your speeches
On so many occasions my couples mention they don’t wish to have a videographer for their whole day, but would love to have their speeches recorded.
I get it - on my own wedding day I really wanted those kind words from my best men, my wife and father in law recorded to look back on. My wife and I now watch the recordings once a year, as a wedding anniversary tradition. Little did I know then just how special the recordings would become as we all grow older.
So, I've now made this available as an optional extra for all my clients. For £175, I provide a 4k recording of speeches for up to 1 hour coverage, filmed from a tripod. I provide small microphones (clip on, not handheld) to ensure great sound quality throughout. The video is delivered through my private online gallery along with your photography collection, to share on with family and friends.
Now there's simply no need to ask a friend to record on their phone for you. You can sit back, relax, and look forward to your brilliant speeches being captured so you can relive them again for many years to come.
Engagement Shoots
Perfect to relax you in front the camera, let's head off for a few hours to a location that's special to you. Bring your wellies, the dog...whatever you like. These informal shots are fantastic for save the dates or a guest message photo-book for your big day. Pre-Wedding shoots £395.
Your questions answered!
Q: How far will you travel?
Anywhere! I'm based in Somerset and shoot weddings all over the UK and internationally. Should you be thinking of a destination wedding, please get in touch for a bespoke quote - I'd love to hear your plans and can provide examples of my previous destination photography.
Q: When is my balance due?
30 days prior to your wedding day unless we have agreed otherwise.
Q: How many images will we receive?
Every wedding is different – if I see a great shot, I'll shoot it! For a full day's coverage you may expect to receive a minimum of 400 photos, each carefully edited and in high resolution.
Q: Can you offer me a discount?
Unfortunately not, prices start from £1,600.
Q: Can we meet up before we book?
I offer a no-obligation 30 minute consultation over Skype/Facetime to discuss my package and your ideas. If you think we may be a good fit, I subsequently offer to meet in person in Bristol or nearby on a weekday. Unfortunately I am unable to offer weekend meetings (as I’m usually shooting weddings!).
Q: Are you able to 'pencil us in'?
I am unable to hold dates open for couples as I frequently receive several enquiries for the same date and so do this to ensure fairness across couples. To secure your date I require a deposit and completed booking form.
Q: Will you require food on the day?
If you are happy to offer food, a small meal would be greatly appreciated but this is by no means a requirement. Just let me know in advance and I can otherwise arrange to bring food with me.
Q: How much time will you spend with us on the day?
My usual Platinum package coverage is from two hours before the ceremony through to just after the first dance or 9pm. You'll have comprehensive coverage throughout the day. If you would like to extend coverage beyond the first dance to 11:30pm, I offer this as an additional extra.
Q: Do you need to see the venue beforehand?
If I haven't shot a wedding at your venue before I'll leave a little extra time to familiarise myself on the morning of your wedding. It's not necessary for me to visit the venue before the day itself, however should you feel this is essential, please do mention this at the booking stage and we'll organise a suitable date.
Q: Are you insured?
Yes – public liability and professional indemnity.
Q: How long does it take to receive our photos?
As soon as possible - typically within 4 - 6 weeks of your big day during peak summer periods.
Q: What time do you arrive?
I arrive 2 hours before the ceremony time, which gives us plenty of time for the bridal/groom prep.
Q: How much photoshop will be used?
Each photograph is individually selected then carefully, professionally edited. This means I may crop, straighten and adjust colour casts to correct artificial or poor natural lighting. I'll use my many years of professional editing experience to provide work of the standard you see in my gallery. I may also adjust certain photographs to black and white and this may be for a variety of reasons which I am happy to chat through with you. Rest assured your photographs will be of you looking beautiful on your wedding day – but let's keep photoshop itself limited to that stray piece of litter in the backdrop. All photographs will be free of a watermark.
Q: I'm worried about poor weather...
We'll embrace the great British weather! It's the one thing that we can't control so my advice is stay positive - there are also beautiful shots to be had indoors should the worst happen. Professionally speaking, the brightest sunshine creates the harshest of shadows on faces - I'll guide you and your guests. If we get a break in the weather or particularly beautiful natural light, I'll let you know.
Q: Do you take group shots?
Of course! Although as a friendly word of warning, group shots can be lengthy to do and quickly become tiresome for you and your guests if you have a long list in mind. I recommend that we keep the planned formal shots to 10 - 12 max. This should be more than sufficient for those important family and friends photographs and one of the whole wedding party. Most importantly this allows you and your guests to enjoy your day and a happy wedding party leads to beautifully relaxed candid photos. Your ushers and best man can be very helpful during group shots by gathering your guests in preparation.
Q: Are you able to offer extended coverage?
Yes - this can be arranged before or after booking (or even on the day itself!). Please call or email me to chat through your special requirements.
Q: Do you archive our images?
Yes, I store my wedding photos on an external system although I strongly recommend that you also back up all the photos that you download and receive. As part of your photography package your private gallery is available for 12 months.
Q: Can you make us an album?
Certainly. I offer a luxury real padded leather album for £500. Please click here to find out more. You will be able to select your favourites and I will design the album from there. Albums can be added to your package at any stage - even after the big day itself.
Q: Is there anything you need us to do before our big day?
I would appreciate if you could double check that photographs are permitted during your ceremony at your venue. Some venues, particularly churches, may restrict my movements or not permit photography at all. Should this be the case, I cannot accept responsibility for a lack of coverage. If my movements are restricted, I'll need a little time to select the most suitable vantage point.
Q: What if you can't attend?
In the extremely unlikely event that I am unable to attend your big day, I have a large network of professional photographers that could provide assistance and I then edit the collection.
